The Put Kids First rally is happening at Friendship Chamberlain Elementary School - in the gym. There will be registration tables with information as well as signs, balloons, and banners.

The school is located across the street from the Potomac Avenue Metro Station.

The Put Kids First rally will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 beginning at 10:00 AM. Attendees should plan to arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 AM.

National School Choice Week is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort that brings together hundreds of thousands of Americans to show their support for educational choice. Thousands of events take place each year during the week and in 2014, the celebration will take place during January 26 - February 1, 2014. There are a few different events happening throughout Washington, D.C. including the Put Kids First rally on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. The rally is open to the public and free to attend. It's a great ways to show the united support for educational choice and is sponsored by a variety of different non-partisan groups in Washington, D.C. that work on education reform. Who can attend the Put Kids First rally?
Anyone can attend the Put Kids First rally! It's free and open to the public. Schools and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to visit the U.S. Capitol and bring their students to the rally. Please join us to show your support for educational choice!
Where should we park to attend the Put Kids First rally?
There is street parking near the school that is easily accessible. Additionally, we suggest using the METRO rail system and exiting at the Potomac Avenue station. The school is located across the street from the metro.
Who participates in the rally?
We are expecting a variety of different speakers including students, parents, teachers, and elected officials. There will also be a student performance. Speakers will represent all types of educational choice!
Is the event open to the media?
Yes. The event is open to the media and all media are encouraged to attend.

Yes. We kindly request that everyone who plans to join us register online to attend. It's easy and quick. It's important to register online so that we may keep you updated with event information and logistics. Specifically if it rains or snows and we have to move the location of the rally. Can we bring our own rally signs and banners?
It's not required and there will be plenty of free signs and banners to go around. However, there's nothing quite like a homemade sign supporting school choice. So, get a little creative and use the rally as an excuse for an extra hour of arts and crafts.
